Put boxes of baking soda in the car for a start. The smell may have gotten into the carpet and any cloth. Sprinkle the baking soda on it and let it sit, then vacuum it off. Leave windows open for a while and use a febreeze type product that is extra strength. Clean every surface that is vinyl or leather with an appropriate product, I like the Lexol brand products, they work very well. Someone who did appholstry work in vehicles recommended them to me. These are what I recommend as places to start. Vinegar also works well for getting rid of odors. It got rid of cat urine in my carpet really easily.

This works EVERY time! After you remove the clippings and area is dry start by shaking a mix of baking soda on carpet areas after a couple hours vacuum it out but to absorb the stink and put a nice fragrance in the car place an open bag of apples in the car. Instead of stinky grass your car will smell like an apple orchard

Yum, the smell of moldy hay.....quick, open the windows! Perhaps an aerosol air disinfectant / sanitizer like ozium or lysol sprayed inside might help. Heaven forbid you'll have to resort to the classic "pine tree" hung on the rear view mirror! Best of luck!

Put some baking soda or coffee in there where the grass was. I save old used coffee or get it from starbucks and let it dry out in the sun on a baking sheet then use it in areas of odor. It really works!

Maybe try few drops of essential oil on cotton ball (s) set inside plastic cups. Try peppermint or a citrus scent, or whatever appeals to you.

I had a similar thing happen when my daughter threw up in my car. I did everything to get the smell out, but the smell didn't go away until I got the air filter changed. It is fairly cheap to do and it will fix the lingering odor.

Get a dishpan and place three or four pages of newspaper on the bottom, then sprinkle three or four cups of used coffee grounds ( I got mine from a local restaurant) on top and another layer of newspaper. Switch out with new every couple days till odor is gone. I used this method when my freezer went bad with rotting meat. It Worked!!

Only takes once to learn the hard way! I would suggest sprinkling plenty of baking soda on the seats (if they're fabric) and the floor. Let it absorb the odor for at least 8 hours and then vacuum. Wash down whatever else you can (windows, dashboard, etc.) and open the doors to air it out. Then, keep an open bowl of baking soda on the floor until the odor is completely gone.

I had cooking oil spilled in my car. The smell was there for a year. We went camping, and the smell was gone! Charcoal briquettes had spilled from the bag and absorbed the odor! It was amazing!
