Make a photo display to collect all those family photos that are sitting around.
I have a lot of family photos in a little hallway in front of my laundry room. They keep growing! I needed a solution.
I found these boards in a corner of a local antique shop. I paid $2.00 each. The dealer didn't even know where he got them or what they were.
I had a bundle of rough rope from Lowes.
I stained the boards.
I asked my husband to drill hole through them. These boards were 22 inches long so I asked him to drill 4 holes, equidistant across the top.
I ran the rope up through one hole and down through the opposite. One for the outside holes, one for the inside. The outside rope will also be the hanger so I tied a knot in each side under the board.
I hot glued the rope down the back of the framed photos. I put glue only on the backing not on the frame so I can change out the photos.
I put 6 photos on this one. As you can see, they are different sizes. You could put some down the center too. Those heart shaped rocks come out of a local stream. I had them amd thought they were a nice touch.
Another view. I am making another one tomorrow.
Suggested materials:
  • Boards, rope, stain, hot glue, photos.   (I had everything here but you could use any kind of board, different rope or ribbon, and any stain or paint.)

How did you drill holes thru from top to bottom on board?
