Old Maple Dresser Turned French Country Chic

I bought this dresser at an estate sale knowing I was going to paint it. The nice thing I have found with maple dressers is that they are very sturdy solid pieces, but kind of lack any pizzazz. This dresser had a full fledged make-over, there is no missing it now!
Oh how I love shades of French Linen
A pretty typical maple dresser.
I painted the body of the dresser French Linen with ASCP and trim work with Old White
I made a mixture of French Linen and old white so that the drawers had a little contrast from the body of the dresser.
I then trimmed it out in Old White. It was tedious work cutting in around the raised panels, but it will be worth it in the end. Since I was using French linen I decided to give it a French country look by adding a few stencils.
I know a lot of people do not paint the back of their dressers, but I sell my pieces down at a store and you just never know what angle the customer is going to see it at, so I like to make it pretty from every side.
Now it is time for clear wax.
I love the contrast of the lighter linen color against the darker linen, I think it helps a big dresser have more interest.
