What's that?! A PARTY!? That's right, y'all! A Hometalk/Michaels NATIONWIDE PINTEREST party, nonetheless! And guess who is going to be there as the featured blogger?! ME! Woohoo!!! I will be at the Flanders/Mt. Olive, NJ Michaels on February 16th from 1-4 all ready to craft the hours away with YOU! Check it out!
Here is my take on one of Michaels' awesome 5 Pinterest endcap projects, featuring their awesome birdcage and great wooden cut outs!
Materials: -1 Ashland Garden Collection Birdcage (Medium size) -1 bag of Dyed Spanish Moss (you won't need the whole bag) -1 ArtMinds Wood Plaque -1 Simply Surfaces Wooden Laser Cut Bird (my FAV) -1 Mini Wooden Chalkboard -1 Page of Scrapbook paper from The Garden Tea Party Stack DCWV -Mod Podge and brushes -Decoart Paint in Soft Heather and Glamour Dust in Celebration Pink -Some burlap and wire ribbon
I started by wrapping the burlap around the birdcage and putting some of the moss in it, then wrapped the ribbon around it tying it off in a box bow.
Next, I cut the paper to fit the plaque by tracing it on the opposite side with a pencil. I Mod Podged the paper onto the plaque and painted the edges of the plaque with the soft pink, then the glamour dust to match the paper.
I also painted the bird to match.
I then hot glued the bird and the chalkboard to the plaque and placed it inside the birdcage.
I think the birdie looks so sweet inside there!
