I love the look but the hardwood in my entry hall has dramatically faded due to sun.

Are you wondering what others think? I'm sure pretty much every one would love a wood floor. We weren't able to do that because we had more than one subfloor in different parts of some rooms due to remodeling. We ended up choosing a really good laminate. Actually the most expensive one they had in the store. [rolling eyes] But the installer said it was the best choice for our floors. It has a cork backing so it can adjust to the areas that were remodeled. It also has no issue with water. If we go away and the water line breaks in our kitchen, the water won't damage the laminate we got. (That actually happened to my sister when she & her hubby were on a 2 week cruise. An upstairs bathroom water line broke and flowed down the stairs and all around their first floor. A neighbor noticed it coming out the front door. All of her floors and part of her walls were destroyed - plus most of her furniture. ) The moral of that mini-story is to check when you buy any flooring how it will hold up to an unexpected water leak if you're away.

    Good luck!
