Plank ceiling for bathroom/humidity

We have the "lovely" popcorn type ceiling in our bathroom and want to plank over it. But, we're finding most of the planking material we're finding says to not use it high humidity areas, esp right above the shower itself. Has anyone found a plank like product that can be used anywhere? Or if not plank, have you found a creative alternative to just painted drywall? Thanks!

Try marine varnish. It's what they use on boats and made for high moisture. Amazon sells it
