Yes, I have similar cabinets. You will need to get a primer that will adhere to it, lightly sand the rough edges until smooth, then you can paint whatever color you wish. We bought our primer at Sherwin Williams, not sure of the name, costs about $30/gallon. Just ask for the primer to cover laminate/particle board.
absolutly! Clean them well first with TSP or a TSP substitut, then use a good quality chalk paint or milk paint rather than something designed for walls (it will adhere much better than Wall paint)
I believe it is a brand of cleaner that will get any oily residue off the wood-they told me to use it for my banister due to all the residue from hands. They had it at my Walmart but I'm sure any place that sells paint has it. What color are you going to do? I want to paint mine an off white but the top cabinets have glass and I'm afraid
Woodgrain vinyl paper bonded over particle board.
Make sure they are clean and dry. Use acrylic latex paint. Remove the doors and hardware. Mark the doors and cabinets with tape where they go. Lightly sand the doors and cabinets to remove any gloss and roughen the surface for paint. Prime with a stain blocking primer like Zinsser 123, KILZ,or BIN. Then paint with your color. Seal with at least three coats with a water based polyurethane. Use a small foam roller and foam brush for a smooth finish.
