I will be replacing the toilet and vanity, but would rather not replace the tub, I heard painting it is a big job what are my other options

There are companies that will install a new fiberglass shell over old tubs for about 1/4 the price of replacement...one that I'm familiar with is called BathFitters but I know there are others.

Re-glazing the tub is a good option. Costs a fraction and looks just as good.

I know someone who re-glazed her tub, it was a lot of work-just what I don't want to take on, but thanks for the info

How about having the tub covered over using this method: www.bathfitter.com

Maybe have someone professional redo the tub with epoxy. Our friend had it done and it looks brand new even after more than a year. But spend the extra money and have it done professionally! Do it yourself epoxy paints don't last and are a mess to work with.
