Trim in fall and springtime. An angle cut is best. Do not over water. Lady bugs are healthy for roses as they eat aphids.

Make sure you dead head all dead blooms. The more severe you cut back the more new branches will grow and the plant will start filling in from the bottom.

I have always pruned my roses by going down to 5 leaves. Cutting at an angle just above the 5. My roses are full tall healthy and beautiful. I also feed them. Also, all have just turned 10 plants are 30 years old.
Roses love to be cut back. If you have 3 or 4 growing on 1 stem, cut all but one at an angle. Always cut at an angle at the base. They will flurish. Enjoy 😊
Cut off dead wood anytime you see it. Major pruning in the fall, nearly to ground, then cover with leaves to keep warm over winter. Clear leaves in spring and cut off any dead wood, give a little rose food and they will be ready for blooming weather.
Yup trim after they bloom in early fall or even after fall before snow. They are dormant in cold weather so they won't stress as they are sleeping or dormant.
