I have made a solar fountain - I will say if even a cloud covers the solar panel the fountain will not work. It needs to be 100% in the sun to run (so it will not run at night). You can spend more money and look for a solar panel with a battery in it so that it can collect the sun energy to run at different parts of the day.

On a positive note, they are really easy to use. I bought the circle solar fountain and you simply place it in a bird bath or flower pot container and "ta-da"you have a solar fountain. I do love mine, just don't love that it is so sensitive to light.

The best way, would, be to fine a store that sells solar lighting. Homedepot or Lowe's and call first. Tell them you want the lighting Dept. Also look in the phone book or Google it. (Solar fountains to purchase). You might have some luck @ a nursery. They sell statues, and ornaments, and I'm sure that they would have out door fountains. Good Luck!
