Put the racks thru the dishwasher. Paint Dawn dish soap on racks with a paint brush. Leave soap on for at least 4 hours. Then soak in very hot water in the bath tub. Use steel wool or tip of teaspoon bowl to remove stubborn spots.
For standard cleaning, use a soapy sponge and hot water to wipe the racks. For stubborn messes, soak oven racks in hot water, dish soap, and a couple scoops of baking soda. Let the racks soak in this mixture for 15 to 30 minutes before scrubbing clean with a soft sponge.

Use a Mr Clean or brand X white eraser sponge. Just wet the sponge with water. They get almost anything clean and I have used them for my oven/stove.
Vinegar and baking soda. That is what I use for a quick clean up.
Grill brushes work well for all the stuck on gunk.
I put mine in a water tight garbage bag with ammonia. Leave them for a few hours and wipe off with a scouring pad.
