Not everything has to be purchased already made. Try your hand at drawing or even stencilling to create your desired look. For example, the Jack Skellington faces above could have been purchased but it was much more affordable to paint them onto a wooden circle cutout.

Think Outside the Box
Many things can be used to create unique ribbon wreaths. Never limit yourself to the options when decorating. The wreath featured above is centered around a spider web I purchased at the store. I was delighted when it fit perfectly into the wreath. Don't be afraid to try random items into your look!

Celebrate Every Day

Sure we all love to decorate for the traditional holidays. However, who amongst us doesn't need a little celebration on any given day! Don't hesitate to make every day special by creating unique wreaths in fun themes. The dinosaur wreath featured here was made from dinosaurs found in random stores and then painted with ModPodge and glitter. Traditional? Nope! Fun? Oh yeah!

From Plain Jane to a Pop of Color

Wooden cutouts are readily available in the craft department of such stores as WalMart as well as Michael's and Hobby Lobby. One problem though. At first sight, they are so boring. Don't overlook their potential! The anchor above started as a little khaki colored situation that was not much to look at. Yet once it was outlined with blue and painted with glitter it is the focal point of the entire wreath.

Wooden cutouts made this Home wreath come alive as well. For this look acrylic paint was used. Next designs were drawn on with a gold metallic Sharpie and viola..a unique look is created!

Mix and Match
A great way to create unique ribbon wreaths is to mix and match. This goes for color choice, texture and patterns. Creating looks that are visually appealing is easy by just taking a moment to choose your ribbons. The ribbons above are a great choice to mix. One is a fun print that will draw the eye. One adds sparkle and brings out the orange from the witches tights and the third one brings in all the colors of the other two and also adds in a different texture.

The Added Extras
Just as no outfit is complete without accessories no wreath is unique without the added extras. The fun addition of these things help to make your theme. The items featured here are Halloween as that time is coming closer. The crow, pumpkins and witch parts are all great choices for a wreath that is much more treat than trick!
Hopefully, you all enjoyed this tutorial on tips for making unique ribbon wreaths. Most of all the best tip is just enjoy yourself with this creative process!
