My bedroom and "walk-in closet" is going to be a black slate?
My bedroom is getting new windows and drywall. There is a small "used to be" bedroom that the previous owner opened up to the bedroom. It's 10'x12' with it's own door to the hallway. The opening between is 8'x7'. I was thinking about maybe making it a walk-in closet, but still want to leave it an optional nursery? The main part is 18'x15' with a 3'Dx8'W closet. What can i do to make it a fully functional place and warm feeling?

Paint it a cheery color you love. Put in a nice complimentary carpet. Add a cool mini chandelier. Make your closet accessories in a complimentary color.
