Cracked plaster ceiling

Need an idea for camouflaging an area of the ceiling with cracked/damage plaster. I don't want to have to redo the whole ceiling. About a 18-inch square has water damage.

Is it smooth plaster, just knock off the loose stuff and skim coat with joint compound, sand, prime and paint. If its popcorn, get the spray texture ceiling repair kit from Homex, and follow directions

If its just stained, try some bleach and water, 10% solution, put plastic down on anything below cause it will bleach out upholstry and carpet.

Easy peasy. Prime with Kilz2 water based primer. Let dry. repeat if necessary. Paint with ceiling paint. Best of luck.

I understand that you don't want to repair this but....cracked plastic runs the risk of falling at any time! I would do a proper repair.
