Late in the season, it's just the tomato shutting down. If early on in the season you notice yellow, uncurled leaves at the bottom of the plant that work their way up – that can signal a nitrogen deficiency or leaves turning yellow or brown higher up on the plant could be early blight.

It could be early insect destruction but more likely it needs water. Add 3-4 back tea bags in the soil around the plant to stave off bugs. Tuck them down about two inches into the soil. Bugs hate the smell. Water daily and then once a week mix Miracle Grow for tomatoes with water for each plant. One tablespoon per gallon of water.

Tomatoes get several kinds of fungus determined by geographic area. If you Google it you can find your area & photos of plant symptoms.

Also many plant nurseries employ Master Gardners, who are happy to help diagnose. 🍅
