If you really want to do this, take all the ceiling tile out or remove them.careful not to damage them.they are fragile. then you can paint the grid use painter tape around the out side walls tape under the grid keep paint off the walls.
I would do the above, but you don't have to remove them all, you can slide them over a row at a time, paint the grid with a tiny foam roller, and tape the edges of the wall first. When dry slide the tiles back in, and do another row. Put the roller and the tray in a plastic bag while you wait for it to dry.
You can remove the tiles by just lifting up on one side of them , then shifting .

If you are painting the tiles know they really soak up paint so you will need probably twice what you expect (1 gallon 4 every 200 sq. ft.) Your best bet is to use a paint sprayer.
