Can scotch guard be used to protect stenciled fabric on a footstool

    I would paint some of that paint on a scrap of the fabric and test it first.

    I don't see why not but test it on the stenciling product (paint or ink etc) NOT on the couch to be sure it will not be damaged.

    Hello My2483simms, Does it say on the Scotch Guard can what types of items to spray it on. I agree with Sharon, try to test it on the paint first.

    I honestly don't think that Scotch Guard is durable enough to protect your stenciling. I would use several coats of polyurethane. (Allow plenty of dry-time between coats.

    I use Scotchguard on many things: shoes, purses, clothing, especially whites, new lampshades, etc
