You don't need a companion plant for your chocolate vine. They're monoecious, meaning that the male and female parts are both on the same flower.
If you're feeding it, stop. Perhaps just give it a yearly mulch with homemade compost or well-rotted manure, but no extras, and it will mostly likely start to flower.
