We always prune ours in the fall....or late winter....before they begin to bud out for the spring

Here in South Florida we prune it in early winter.

I've read a couple of articles about them from different sources & their opinions differ too, I'm going to trying the winter pruning since that's what the majority of you said. These trees are very special to me they've been here for over 45 yrs. & were cut down to 3 ft. shrubs. I let them grow back out last yr. when I moved here.
