The north side of my garage is an eyesore in my yard due to age and moss and mold growth. It is built of cinder blocks. I want to put up this reed fencing to disguise the mess. There is a 2x4 at the roof line but hubby doesn't think the reed can be attached there. I have some chicken wire u-shaped tacks to try with. Any other ideas?
If you can't attach it some way from the 2x4, then Liquid Nails is probably your best bet. This will look very nice on your wall, good choice! Let us know what your solution is.
Attach Battens to Blocks on Cinder Wall by Drilling and Plug and Screw or No more Nails if it will hold on a wall full of Moss etc. Then attach Reed Screen. The above will make it easier to replace same when it too becomes Shabby.........................
If you are having a mold issue on the block; there may be a water drainage problem there; and if so; the reed will not last very long.
Try concrete glue.

Maybe this can help. It would allow the air to circulate.
Unless you remove the moss and mold from the garage it will probably transfer to the reed you put up. If nothing else, your hubby could bolt 2x4's onto the garage wall to attach them to the board. He should be able to do that himself with a concrete bit on his drill. That would also make it easier to change out the reed curtain if you want to take it down to clean it or change to something else or whatever.
Moss/mold can be washed away with a household bleach solution. Just saying.
Or glue thin strips of wood across the top of the fencing with E6000 exterior glue. Let it dry. Then you can nail, tack or brad the fencing to the 2x4. You can also paint the fencing, cinder blocks, eaves of the roof or anything else that doesn't move. If you can, put a bench or yard swing, a little table or two, and some potted plants in front of that fencing--preferably pieces you already own. You will have made a silk purse from a sow's ear, and done it well, too. Best wishes 😇

My husband attached wood 2x2s to the wall and attached the reed panels to the wood. The reed doesn't last too long because of the sun and rain. I prefer something more permanent.
