Could be rust.
It sounds as if the bearings on your washing machine are going bad, allowing grease from the bearings to stain your clothes.
Brown spots on your clothes after washing could be rust forming on the inside of your washer (happened to me before). Your local hardware store should sell specific touch up paint for your washer that you can use to cover any minor rust spots.
not sure of the fabric but some fabrics responds to hydrogen peroxide on damp fabrics. let set for 30 minutes and rinse. this works best on cottons and
cottons and some synthetics
Do you have lots of minerals in your water? Does your water need to be softened? If so you can use vinegar in the rinse cycle.
