Hi, it’s Brittany from Our Home Made Easy! I am passionate about sharing time saving projects around the house for other busy families.

Today I want to show you how I turn left over wood into cute hexagon pumpkins!

You can see the full tutorial here
Using a pressure treated 1" x4" or 2" x 4" for this project.

Each pumpkin will require 6 cuts. Four of your sides will be the same length. The top & bottom are their own length. This is where you could choose to have short and wide pumpkins, or tall and lean pumpkins. It’s really dependent on the space you have available.

Cut 6 pieces of lumber. Then, you will make 12 angled cuts (1 on each end). Each cut is approximately 30 degrees.

Join using a Kreg Jig and attach to a wood base.
If you are interested in example sizes, you can see them on the original blog post.

Here I drilled a small opening at the top of the pumpkins for the 'stem.'
Using a spool of copper and cutter, make stems for each pumpkin. Cap off with a copper cap. We patina'd them so that they were a pretty green rather than new, shiny copper.
Then I stained the pumpkins and bases. Next, I used a paint sample to paint the pumpkins orange. I applied two thin coats and wiped away excess so that that stain showed through the paint.
I finished the project to match my 'HARVEST' sign. Here they are ready for fall!
