Use a fan, flying insects do not like the breeze. Any little portable fan will do.

when you are on your porch, turn on a fan or if possible, install a ceiling fan. Insects struggle to fly in a light breeze.

When someone uses the porch, place box or oscillating fans around - the mosquitoes and bees (and flies!) can't fly in the breeze, so they go away.

All the above suggestions are great and I use a fan on my porch. In addition, I keep a spritz bottle filled with white vinegar which I use on any exposed area on my body...it may sound strange but it sure works on mosquitos.

May try hanging some beautiful mosquito netting. It comes in all colors and looks very exotic!! Can easily hang with command strips.
