Rep crack in vinyl siding and actual chip out of vinyl siding.

Question

Can't replace the problem areas.  I was thinking of the possibility of putty or similar product.

Anyone who installs vinyl siding would have some extras they may sell you for cheap. Contact your hardware store or anyone who may have installers. Our installer who repaired our home after hail storm offered enough for us to put on the garage we were building to match our home. It was left overs, 3 different widths, but enough for each side one width so it did not show at all and free! It would not hurt to try for a few pieces for inexpensive pieces!

The crack should be repairable with caulk. Perhaps you can repair the chip with it too? It works on small holes. Get a caulk that matches the colour or buy a clear or paintable one.
