There was a great suggestion by another member who suggested baking soda and essential oils shaken to make smaller places smell good.. for whole house I have tried a multitude of things from sprays to plants to waxes. All are somewhat effective I purchased a candle heater which works well when on, have also tried aromatic sheets in air vents and using oil diffusers depends on what you like

Maybe first you need to ask yourself what makes the house smell bad. If it's a musty smell, you may have a mold problem, which could be hazardous to your heath, and needs to be addressed right away! If it's pet odors, (I learned the hard way with two new puppies), you just can't have carpeting, or area rugs. You should clean them and their toys regularly. If you just want a fresh smelling house, they make scents you put into your air systems filter so the whole house smells good! http://www.filtrete.com/3M/en_US/filtrete/products/~/Filtrete-Products/Whole-House-Air-Fresheners/?N=4315+8721808+3294529207+3294857497&rt=r3

These last for 30 days and can be changed when you change your filter on your air system!

    Good luck!

Replace air filters frequently, wash drapes and fabrics items to remove dust and stale smells, burn candles, boil potpourri on the stove in a small pan of water, use an odor-removing air freshener like Febreze on furniture, carpets, etc.

you can deodorize with Simple Green from Walmart boat/auto section or Menards soap section. It is not harmful and disinfects and deodorizes. I use it for all my cleaning. Then consider boiling cinnamon sticks on the stove on low simmer or other harmless oils.

Fresh air and cleaning. Air your house out often. If you have constant disagreeable odors try to find the source and eliminate that. Good luck!
