Post a pic and tell us your style and we could be more specific in our advice.
Generally, I would say pick smaller scale furniture and less is more, Don't over-crowd the room with too many furniture pieces. Use smaller scale even in choices of fabrics to maintain a feeling of openess.
You have 192 square feet, so its like a studio apartment. I would create "areas" by using open shelves (which provide storage for books and baskets to hold other things, plus plants, objet d'art, etc). Combine sleep and sitting by using a pull out sleeper sofa, a futon or a day bed. Get a small table that can be used as a desk when you need it. Make everything do double duty: use a trunk as a coffee table and store winter clothes there. A nightstand can have a storage shelf, a drawer, whatever, to keep your photo albums, etc. A chest of drawers can hold a tv on top or maybe a stereo system. Have fun!
