I live in East Texas and the gophers are taking over my yard. They are EVERYWHERE!!!! It makes it hard to mow and even just walk across the yard. If anyone has any advice as to how to get rid of these little monsters please let me know. I will try anything at this point.

Hello Gladys; I researched this for you!!! Please try these fixes:

Drop un-chewed juicy fruit gum down their holes.

Purchase several boxes of Mothballs. They hate the smell and it is poison to them.

Pour Caster oil down their holes.

Also, I read that a person had wonderful luck using mouse traps.

They were baited with peanut butter, birdseed, and cheese.

The Gopher's ate it and got trapped in the mouse traps and died.

Lastly, Maybe a cat would be helpful??

I hope that this helps you!!!!! Take Care!

buy some dry ice; use heavy gloves, break up with hammer; stuff it down all the mole tunnel entrances. It really works. They either die or run to the neighbors. Had googled and tried multiple suggestions but this was the only one that succeeded. Good Luck.

I used poison 1 year. By the end of the week all the animals were belly up on my grass and I disposed of them. No one likes using poison, BUT...not all people [tree huggers] know the damage that these critters can do to your property.

Hi Gladys, I have read that if you put a garden size windmill in your yard, the moles will take up residence somewhere else. The windmill creates vibrations in the ground. Moles cannot tolerate the vibrations. Hope this helps you. Good luck.

The moles are after grubs to eat. Kill the grubs and the moles will leave. You can buy grub pellets at the big box hardware store. Use as directed.

  • If you or if you know anyone who has snakes, keep the skin when they shed and place a good long piece in each in hole. They won't be back. Tried and true!
