Paper is THE best weed prevention. Shred all your papers, news papers, envelopes, bills, anything and wet them down. Put them around the shrubs and flowers and cover them over with mulch. Not a weed nor grass will come through if you make it good and thick. It is excellent mulch too!

Good luck. It takes patience and perseverance to eradicate Bermuda grass as it spreads by seeds and by roots going deep into the ground. If you do not want to use something like Round Up, the best is the hardest and that is to dig it up. Each and every root. Bermuda grass will grow through everything even that weed plastic people use.

go to chemistrycatchet.com - female chemist has invented safe weed killer. With Bermuda grass you have to stay with and use the chemical more that once or twice but her weed killer really works and it's safe around kids and pets.

There is a herbicide " OVER- THE TOP "marketed by " DOITYOURSELF " on the "NET "in Georgia which works very well in eliminating Bermuda-Grass either on the lawn or mixed in your shrubbery without any damage to surrounding acceptable vegetation. I believe the chemical maker is Fertilume ??
