Houseplant problems

I have a diffenbachia, and an arrowhead plant in an east facing window. They get filtered light. Leaves are turning yellow with brown edges. Thought I was underwatering so I started watering once a week, also fertilized lightly. I have a pothos, and a small palm that are doing well. What could be the problem with these plants that are supposed to be easy care.
Lost several leaves in the past week or so.
This was lush and full when I bought it. Has about 4 leaves left.

That is overwatering. Before you water test the soil with a wooden skewer or even a pencil sinking it in at leat two inches if the soil is damp do not water. Another it do not allow those plants to sit in water. I would suggest treating them in fresh soil and start again. As for fertilizing new plants that should not be necessary. Fertilizing is not the cure all. If the plants are established then fertilizer is needed.

Put a TBSP of Epsom salt at the base of the plant and then water only once a week. It seems the yellowing is due to lack of magnesium and Epsom salt has that.
