i just put in the new cork backed vinyl planks. 100% waterproof, cushioned and comfy. They look so good I used it for my basement bar floor.
The ceramic tile floors that look like natural wood floors -- especially if they're radiant floors.
Either vinyl or tile. I would go with vinyl only because of the grout on tile, scrubbing and resealing every year or so in high traffic areas is more than I want to do, but that is just me.
Tile
I would go with a tile. The reason is that the grout makes a seal between the tiles. There is no seal with laminate. If your animals are having accidents the liquid will flow to any and all cracks and will remain.
For durability I have ceramic tile ( have had 4 dogs) however, if accidents happen in the house, it goes right to the grout, it is a really big job to keep grout clean. I would never put in ceramic tile again.....
I think it's called New Tek. Found it at floor and decor if you have one close. Bunch of colors
