Use RIT dye and bucket . Don't forget the gloves .
I know of people who have used stain (wood) to color rope by dipping it in a bucket with stain , but dyeing rope, especially cotton makes sense, too! C.D. Scallan suggests Rit Dye which sounds like a great idea! Good luck!
It depends on what type of rope you are going to use, Sisal, cotton, nylon, jute? they can all be dyed, but by different methods.
YES IF IT IS COTTON - BUT REMEMBER IT WILL SHRINK SO DON'T CUT IT UNTIL IT IS DRY.......................
