If the wallpaper was applied over sheetrock that had been primed and painted, usually a spray bottle with vinegar and water with soften the glue and you can usually easily remove. If difficult areas, spray more vinegar and water to saturate. Sometimes a plastic scraper is needed to help peel in corners and along molding. If the wallpaper was applied to sheetrock that was not primed with paint, it is very difficult to remove and renting a steamer will work best. Here's hoping sheetrock was painted.

As long as it was put over a painted surface, use the wallpaper tool which scratches into the surface and then I use a bottle of warm water with just a touch of fabric softener. Apply and let set for a few minutes then use a scraper. Reapply the liquid as needed. Good luck
steam is probable the best way but soakins it with vinegar and water and a putty knife to scrape it will work also
steamer!
Hi Freya, I have done many wallpapers in our homes and must tell you, it's not that bad. I have never had to use any sprays such as vinegar etc. Years ago I bought a small home use steamer. It doesn't have a name on it but I'm sure an internet search would find something similar. I fill it with water, wait for it to get hot, score the wall if a large area, press the steam plate on the wall for a few seconds, start pulling off paper. Now you do have to be careful not to leave it on too long and you will then steam off the paint, etc underneath the wallpaper and then may have to do repair on drywall. Hope this helps.
Go to Amazon and you will see the below item. It's very similar.
