Shutters usually have slats facing down. If you paint the shutters new, you could hang them upside down (slats up) and hang plants from them on a fence wall or post, or your house. I have also seen them used for mail or messages, people put the messages in the slat. Maybe use a part of a shutter for the messages at the front door and provide pencil on string and pad on which to write? Some folks hang them inside for message board the same as I mentioned. They would be cute on a small play house for children or grand children also. Personally, I think I would use them as plant hangers, and stagger several on it! Pretty addition to a sitting area out of doors.

I reused mine for plant shelves outside. The slats allow the water to drain through when you water. Also good for privacy screening.

Hello Tami; Personally, if I had your shutters, I would use them inside, as that is all the rage at this moment!!!

If they have some chippy paint, that is even better!!

You can add tiny dabs of paint, to match your décor.

I would lean them against a wall where they would be seen.

You can also hang them, behind a buffet.

You can use them as a small headboard.

The ideas are endless!!! I hope that this gives you other ideas!! Take Care!
