Turn A Thrift Store Lamp Into A Beaded Beauty

I found a lamp at the thrift store that had really good bones but just needed to be updated. It was the perfect size and shape that I needed and I knew it would be perfect for the farmhouse style I had in mind. Here is a before picture of the lamp base.
I love the white wash finish that is popular at all the large home decor stores and knew I could achieve that finish with just a little paint. I used DecoArt Chalky Finish Paint shown here:
I simply used the small foam brush and lightly added paint across the lamp so the main color would still show through. I love the antique look of the lamp now. For the lamp shade I really wanted a farmhouse style beaded shade using wood beads. It took quite some time but I love how it turned out!
