Faux tiles using plaster of paris and 1/2-inch hardware cloth

Several years ago, I saw an instructional how-to on making an angel wall art using homemade tiles of plaster of paris and 1/2-inch hardware cloth mounted on a board backdrop. The tiles were then individually painted using a graph. This was a large art project that was quite striking. I saved the instructions but between 4 moves and all that goes with a busy life, I lost them but never forgot. I can no longer remember the name of the craft magazine I found this project in. Please, can anyone help me?
