You can paint your front door any color you wish no matter the color of your house, as long as it says "Lilliam lives here." I have seen doors of every color and if I lived in my own place I would certainly be painting mine too. Exterior paint! Oil based paint is mo re durable but a little bit harder during the application! Exterior latex works too. Easy cleanup!
Exterior paint, I usually purchase Behr paints.
Start with a good primer and then a good paint.
