Valentine Treat Jar With a Paint Can

Phew, I think I went a little overboard this Valentine’s Day….what do you think? This is my last Valentine project and my last post of the day, I promise. :)I have had an empty (and new) paint can in my “stash” for some time now. I picked it up at our local hardware store for a few bucks. I thought it was time to pull it out and use it for sugar cookies I baked the other day. This one went to my son’s teacher today. Every teacher needs a special treat on a special day….or any day for that matter.I had a bunch of scrap paper left over for the Valentine burlap banner I made a few weeks ago. I took the scraps and made a sort of patch-work-quilt-look with it. Of course I have to thank my friend Danielle for the idea. It’s very clever, but not mine! Then I just embellished it with twine, ribbon, bakers thread, and anything else in my stash that worked. I topped the lid off with a rosette, and a 3-d heart I cut with my Silhouette Cameo. The heart is actually a “cupcake topper”, but can be used for anything really….even a paint can.I’m off to enjoy my weekend, and I hope you do too.
