  • Patching a plaster hole is not all that difficult to do. There are several methods and materials that can be used. You can purchase a pre-glued patch that you place over the hole and simply spackle it over and blend out. Or you can square the hole up and place a patch board behind the hold screwing the board to each side of the hole. Then place a piece of drywall that fits the square hole you just made and then spackle it back up. They make a fast drying spackle that works really well. When it dries its much harder then normal spackle that comes pre mixed. It does dry fast, but it can be built up thick to fill holes and once dry it can be sanded and finished to look like new. Another trick is to use drywall compound and mix some plaster that comes in small flour size bags. This mix thickens the drywall compound and makes it dry faster. In any case take your time and use fine sand paper or a sanding sponge to give you a perfect finish that will paint very well and blend like it never happened.
