Hanging outdoor lights

we want to hang a string of outdoor lights from our house to the garage(about 25 feet across). the problem is my house has hardy plank. I don't know if I should use a screw eye bolt or something that wont put a hole in the plank? currently I have been using those plastic Christmas light hooks that go under the plank, but it keep falling down. I guess these lights are too heavy for those hooks. any ideas would be appreciated. thanks

Use an eye bolt
I used screw in cup hooks. You could use command type hooks, just use construction glue to attach to the inside of the eve. Would that work for you?
Use an eye bolt. plaUse an eye bolt. IF you are worried about compromising the plank, don't screw it in past the thickness of the wood.
