My pantry was opened, the mice were getting in and tearing my lables off the canned foods to make nests so even though I heard mice can eat through cement I hung a door over the opened area. Wood cabinet door from 2nds building materials $5 the rest was the other added materials all for $13.00
This is the finished door with a picture I traced on a picture frame glass with rope from dollar tree and hinges, door handle and lock I bought at a 2nd hand store.
I boxed in the area with small 2X2s on each side
I bought wired boxes and cut them in half from dollar tree and attached them to the inside of door.
This is the finished spice rack project with the spices added.

i have a great cat who is a perfect mouser and even though almost all my foods are put in tins or glass jars crumbs still escape when im cooking or children drop bits and the mice come but cookie my cat sees to them

if im going to kill the mice then i would rather do it naturally than use toxic stuff
