Elephant ears are very susceptible to aphids, and mealy bugs, spray the under and over sides of the leaves with horticultural oil and repeat as often as necessary.
My neighbor sprayed mine with a mixture he made to keep all bugs off. He used red pepper flakes , vegetable oil and dawn . Warm water was also used, I don't know the ratio each of how He did it. Just know it worked.
technically they are a variety of Taro -- not a true Elephant Ear -- but probably aphids - unless chunks are being eaten out of the leaves -- then look for catepillars ... will need a stomach poison for them -- but the aphids can be controlled with horticultural soap solution.
