I looked on YouTube for a recipe making this glue. All it needed was skim milk 1 1/2 cups warm on the stove until warm. Add 3 tsp vinegar and stir off the heat until it forms a ball. Then drain. Add 1 T baking soda to neutrlize. Then on low heat add a bit of water at a time to liquefy the glue ball to the consistency you would need.
Keep the extra amount in an airtight container.
It's supposed to be like elmers glue and non toxic.
I would not expose it to water or food as it won't hold up to that.
I wanted to preserve the crock look and not use super glue or any messy epoxy.

Free road side crock looking for a new purpos.
My son found two of these and thought mom can do something with them! He was so proud to bring them to me.
I've born a recycler!
I Applied the cooled milk glue pushing it into the cracks. Being careful to smooth and wipe as you go.
Using my fingers to smooth out and push in the glue as far as I could. The dried glue matches the glaze in the pit and is clear. You can't see it because it's clear!
You can see the crack goes through the piece needing repair. I figured using a non toxic glue would keep the integrity of the pot and reuse them as storage for yarn, a waste basket in a guest room or even to hold my shredable papers until I get to them. I can even put one in the living room for dog toys!
Smooth out the edges and fill in rough spots where the glaze has come off. I figured if it works for cracks it will protect the unglazed chips on the outside. It looks great. The integrity of the worn pots looks great but won't crack more now. I'll have to keep them inside because the cold certainly will crack them more.
I have 2 great repurposed crocks were saved from the landfill.
For the holidays I want to "plant" 2 small fake Christmas trees and decorate for my front door.
