There are a lot of plants you can plant around your patio that repel bugs. Lemon grass is a good one. I live in zone 6b so I have it in a large planter as it won't survive the winters here. Another one is citranilla. I also have some lavender and have heard basil is also good. There are many more and they do help! You can probably google more plants that are good for the same purpose!

The best thing I know of, is to keep a dry sheet handy, and wipe it on your arms and neck and legs. The bugs HATE the smell, and will NOT bother you at all. Keep this in your pocket, for others to use. You may want to wipe off the area, that you want to sit, also. I have no problems with this, but you may . . have a nice day, you can reuse these, for ever, and there are lots of tasks for these, also. Have a lovely day, tho rain is here. J.

Put equal amounts of Lemon scented amonia and lemon scented dishwashing liquid in your hose sprayer. Spray until bubbles stops and refill. Spray up underneath leaves of plants, lawn and even some on your roof to get in your gutters.

Spray about every couple of weeks until you can see the difference and then about every 4 weeks or so. Check to make sure there is no standing water such as saucers for plants.

If you want to sit outside, get a box fan and turn it on...they don't fly in wind!
