I have an old cedar chest I would like to re do any suggestions?

sand it an put 2 coats of clear coat on it.

If you lightly sand the inside it renews the cedar smell to store wool items safely from moths. What you do to the outside depends on what décor you have around it and if you want to paint or stain it.

How about chalkpaint? Or sandwash paint to give it a beach-y look
