I found a vinegar, salt and water combinati9on on the web that worked for me. Good luck.
Hi Kris. I also live in Wisconsin. In spring I put down crab grass preventer. This is a pre emergent that does not allow the crab grass seeds to germinate. In early summer right when you can see the dandelions coming up I use a weed and feed. Then in Fall I use a winterizer to prepare the grass for winter. The weed and feed does work to kill weeds. I have been working on mine for 3 years now and have almost gotten rid of all of the weeds. Once your grass is healthy the weeds won't have a chance to grow. We also started aerating our yard in early spring and then again in fall. Good Luck.
We us salt and vinegar to keep grass and weeds for o dog. He is allergic to everything.
You should not use vinegar on the lawn. Regular fertilization programs should be followed for a health lawn. Here are the recommended steps.Crabgrass pre-emergent,6-8 weeks....weed and feed....6-8 wks....summer guard....6-8-wks.....turf builder....6-8weels winterizer. Should you opt not to use those steps use Weed B Gone .
Vinegar and boiling water are really great alternatives to harsh chemicals and they work great- best of luck :)
