How do I find your information on fixing dog urine burns on lawns with Epson Salt? I want to send it on to several people.

    You sprinkle Epsom salt on the yard to green it up after that the spots stand out better and you saturate them with a solution made of 1 gal. water with 2 Tablespoons baking soda. It also helps to water spots right after they do it if you can.

    mix a gallon of water and 4 tbls spoons of epson salts and water the area will take about a week to see new grass i keep a pail outside and when the dog goes i water it right away if i can

    Not the answer I'm looking for...On Hometalkers there was an item specifically instructing the formula using Epson Salt & how to apply the formula to the Urine-burn spot to neutralize the burn & prepare it for re-seeding.

    Hi there, so sorry to hear that. It's a common problem. Dog urine is rich in nitrogen and ammonia so it acts as a liquid fertilizer in a concentrated amount. You can put a tablespoon of baking soda on the spot and water the area to dilute. I personally don't believe in giving your fur baby supplements to neutralize the nitrogen in their wee. It messes with their own body functions.
