Wisteria that wont flower

Question

I have an older wisteria plant that is at the front of my house facing south. For the last 8 years the only thing it has produced is long, lovely green branches full of leaves but none of the purple hanging flowers that I bought the plant for. Any ideas on how to get it to bloom?

As someone who has Wisteria that article is spot on. It took myWisteria 9 years to bloom for the first time. Another overlooked problem is that wisteria is usually located somewhere in our yards. When we fertilize our lawns we do it to get her to Green up which is the worse thing for the Wisteria and blooming. . I can vouch for cutting the roots as it does force the blooms.

Wisteria also blooms on old wood so you need to prune in the fall.

Thank you for all your answers. Since my plant is only 8 years old, that may be the answer, it is still a toddler.

you must trim back heavily twice a year feb and aug are best do it despite fears you'll be rewarded it will bloom again be consistent
