What to do?

Hey! I have had these tables for some time. I want to paint them, but am lacking color inspiration. Thoughts?!

Lighter colour on Tops and Darker on Frames, or the other way around I fancy, Duck Egg Blue and a Turquoise or maybe, Cream and Gold or Peppermint green and Jade or Pink and Purple, Black and White, Orange and Red. The choice is yours. Something to match in with the colour of your home surroundings......

They will be for sale, not for personal use. *sigh* normally inspiration strikes, but not for this set.

You might also explore Unicorn Spit. You can make some beautiful designs with that product. Check it out - I'd try googling DIY tables unicorn spit to see what's out there. I got some to try on 2 large Italian style vases (made in Italy, but plastic ) that I found out on the side of the road. Asked the home owner and they said go ahead and take them. I'm using deep red as my accent color this year so I got red/black & white to mix and play with.

Yes, it does! I made my husband google it (he thought I was being weird telling him to google unicorn spit). He said it looks pretty interesting, and agreed we should get some!

Take a look around your room and select a color that complements what you already have - perhaps taken from a pillow, throw blanket or rug and paint it this color. Have fun with it--- perhaps even painting them 2 or more colors!

ROFL That's funny! (This goes back to the googling of Unicorn Spit). I must have put it in the wrong place. Oops.

Decoupage Newspapers or magazines and Crackle finish?

    • Lynnette Soltwedel Lynnette Soltwedel on Sep 04, 2017

Thank you. I am not a fan of crackle finish, but I should probably move past that. lol, I sell my pieces (well most of them) when they are complete, and I am sure other people love the crackle finish.

Why not paint and then add a white wash on top for a rustic farmhouse feel.

Black is very popular and neutral. You can do gold accents or distress it.

I did consider black! Today I was at Michael's and they have a gold glaze! That might be interesting to use....
