Whats a "Full Flake Floor"?

Here are a couple of pics of one we completed in a Dallas, GA garage. The surface gets its "look" from a full coverage of colored floor flakes which are broadcasted into clear 100% solids epoxy. Once dry, the floor is scraped and an encapsulating coat of 100% solids epoxy finishes the installation. Like it? How about a thumbs up? Thanks!

how do floors like this hold up in a high traffic area such as a kids playroom? or would you suggest a more forgiving (softer) flooring option?

It makes for an interesting floor as it has a texture to it, but for a kids playroom, I'd go with a softer solution. Kids are apt to "horse around" and the floor you see is as hard as concrete. I was once told by a chemist in Dalton (Worlds carpet capital) that the secret to a good long lasting carpet is having a thick pad or at least not skimping on the pad. He said he would get better results out of medium grade carpet when it was over a quality pad than a high grade carpet over builder grade padding. Good Luck Ari !

Thanks. We have sturdy caret/pad there now, just thinking of the future.
