I put them on my chairs also and used loc-tite glue along with the sticky stuff that it already on the felt pad. They have stayed on for several months so far

My parents have floor protectors that are a very soft plastic or rubber with pins in them. They're similar to the ones in this link, only with plastic or rubber instead of felt: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0058KRMGW?cache=5f5dba642c6c5cbeb73076c56cd15a76&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70#ref=mp_s_a_1_9&qid=1392903825&sr=8-9

Not sure. I would probably not use a glue gun because they have a tendency to harden and come off of a lot of things. Contact cement...not sure. I have never used it.

@Dina S my kitchen chair legs are white, so I bought white caps from Home Depot. They come in different sizes, including the one you are looking for. I think they come in a few different colors, but not sure now. Mine have stayed on for 5 years so far!!!

I have the same problem and have hardwood floor in dining room. I will try these ideas. Thanks to everybody.

On one of these boards, several people recommended using leather and contact cement. A leather belt from a thrift shop cut into squares and attached to the chair legs was the remedy they used. I've also seen tennis balls slit and pushed on the chair legs.

@Sandi Renegar The leather is a wonderful idea as it will wear well, shouldn't have any problems there.

I'd reattach the felt pads with E6000

We had the same issues with the felt pads. My husband used small brad nails and I glued them and then he nailed each one on. No issues now, 1 year later!

i ordered chair socks and plan to put them over the felt so it doesn't slide off. will let you know how they do. actually, i could have bought a pkg. of kids heavy cushion tube socks for cheaper.
